Job DescriptionJob Description Fire Assay TechnicianMAIN JOB PURPOSEPerform routine analytical techniques related to establish Fire Assay procedures.
REPORTING LINEYou will be reported to the Fire Assay Shift Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Be responsible for the quality and quantity of samples obtained during the complete analysis of Fire Assay samples.
- Understand Fire Assay procedures.
- Be able to perform these procedures safely and diligently.
- Maintain lead fusion equipment daily.
- Submit a quality sample of silver beads to the Wet Chem Laboratory.
SPECIFIC AUTHORITY4.1 Safety- Ensure that the required PPE is always worn.
- Ensure that proper hygiene procedures are followed.
- Ensure that a high level of internal management is maintained.
- Report all accidents and incidents to the supervisor or management.
- Be diligent about safety while performing tasks.
4.2 Operational- Actively participate in all shift activities as requested by supervisors to ensure that the needs of regular customers are met.
- Report all necessary maintenance work to ensure normal operations.
- Maintain a clean work area and contribute to regular cleaning and maintenance work.
- Ensure that all analytical methods are followed according to instructions.
4.3 Quality Control- Contribute to maintaining proper record keeping and document control systems.
4.4 Administration- Keep management informed of any problems occurring within the laboratory.
- Notify management when inventory is low.
- Attend training as required.
- Maintain good relationships with all client personnel.
- Maintain good relationships with relevant government authorities and community assemblies.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS5.1 Education- Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
5.2 Experience- Have at least one year of experience in a similar position.
5.3 Skills- Be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Understand lead fusion methods and sample type recognition.
- Understand sample preparation and Wet Chem procedures.
- Be able to perform all lead fusion operations.

- Extended hours and shift work may be required.
- Good hand/eye coordination when handling samples & lab equipment.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
