Job Summary:

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for their engagement teams within the Finance Service Tower, delivering Finance Managed Services to clients. This includes execution of processes, accountability for service level performance, and continuous learning and improvement of the team. They also play a key role in helping to input into and execute the Finance Managed Services strategic plans and programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day delivery for Finance engagements including oversight of key customer deliverables/outputs.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions across end-to-end finance processes for their engagements which may include procure to pay, record to report, order to cash, and general ledger functions.
  3. Demonstrate sound understanding of financial reporting processes, risk, and controls.
  4. Complete quality reviews and audits to ensure that delivery on their engagements is in line with established policies, procedures, compliance standards, and customer expectations.
  5. Hold overall accountability for SLA/OLA compliance within their engagement team across Finance processes undertaken.
  6. Apply analytical and financial modeling skills with holistic financial thinking and ability to interpret financial data.
  7. Manage your own workload as well as that of the engagement teams, including reporting on progress and issues escalations.
  8. Monitor the performance of team members on their engagements on an ongoing basis and implement appropriate coaching.
  9. Manage, mentor, and motivate their engagement team members, fostering a culture of excellence, high performance, and continuous learning.
  10. Work collaboratively to drive ideas/solutions with peers and managers which will improve Client and PwC’s efficiency.
  11. Help to implement and adapt to new or changing processes quickly.
  12. Proactively build relationships with all team members within PwC including engagement with client teams as well as customers of our clients.
  13. Implement corrective actions to address any deviations and continuously improve service delivery based on feedback.
  14. Lead quality improvement initiatives based on feedback and observations.
  15. Support in executing the Finance Managed Services plans and programs to ensure the improvement of team performance and achievement of its objectives.

Expected Skills:

  1. Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5+ years experience in a role relevant to Accounting or Financial Reporting.
  2. 3+ years people management experience leading a team in a complex process environment and managing workflow to deliver client outcomes.
  3. Strong practical knowledge with accounting/reporting systems and Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
  4. Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, with knowledge and experience managing risk and controls.
  5. Knowledge of US GAAP and Insurance or Reinsurance accounting experience is desirable.
  6. Knowledge of accounting for financial instruments.
  7. Excellent MS Office skills.
  8. Experience in coaching and coordinating a team to ensure deadlines are adhered to.
  9. Experience in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of finance operations.
  10. Experience of working collaboratively to drive ideas/solutions with diverse teams to improve efficiencies.
  11. Strong leader who can communicate fluently in English and demonstrate an ability to drive personal and collective accountability from a diverse team.
  12. Self-motivated and independent, and can demonstrate strong relationships with internal and external parties.
  13. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; demonstrates strong analytical skills.
  14. Demonstrates commercial awareness in daily service provision within own area of responsibility.

Required Language Skills: Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic.

Minimum Education and Specific Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management/Administration or equivalent.
  2. Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management/Administration or equivalent from an accredited university is preferred.
  3. Certifications in relevant fields (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) would be advantageous.

Minimum years experience required:

  • Part Qualified Accountant with minimum 5 years experience or Qualified Chartered accountant with experience in a role relevant to Accounting or Financial Reporting.
