Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Field Supervisor for Waste Collection, Transportation, and Sorting Contracts to join our team based in Jeddah, KSA. This position will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and performance of contracts related to waste collection, transportation, and sorting operations within Jeddah Governorate. This role involves coordinating with contractors, ensuring compliance with project standards, monitoring waste management operations, and ensuring that all activities are performed efficiently and safely.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all waste management activities adhere to regulatory standards and operational efficiency. We envisage success in this role to include:

  1. Supervising daily operations of waste collection, transportation, and sorting activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications and local regulations.
  2. Monitoring contractor performance and providing guidance to ensure effective execution of waste management services.
  3. Conducting regular inspections of waste collection routes, transportation methods, and sorting facilities to assess operational efficiency and safety.
  4. Coordinating with project teams, contractors, and local authorities to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  5. Preparing detailed reports on the performance of waste management contracts, including operational assessments and compliance with environmental standards.
  6. Ensuring that waste is collected, transported, and sorted in accordance with environmental and health regulations.
  7. Providing recommendations for optimizing waste collection routes, improving sorting practices, and enhancing transportation efficiency.
  8. Maintaining accurate records of waste management activities and contract compliance.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 3+ years of experience in waste management or public infrastructure projects, preferably in waste collection and transportation, partnered with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Waste Management, or a related field.
Furthermore, you should demonstrate:

  1. Strong knowledge of waste collection and sorting processes, transportation logistics, and environmental regulations.
  2. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple aspects of waste management contracts.
  3. Ability to work closely with contractors and project teams to ensure operational success and compliance with contract terms.
  4. Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  5. Certification in waste management or environmental compliance (e.g., SWANA, ISO 14001) is an advantage.
  6. Saudi nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
