The Facilities Engineer Trainee will assist in the maintenance, operation, and improvement of building systems and facilities. This role involves learning to support the day-to-day operations of facilities, ensuring that all equipment, systems, and infrastructure are running smoothly. The trainee will work closely with senior engineers and teams to gain practical experience in facility management, maintenance, and safety practices.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage Facility Operations: Assist in managing building maintenance, and mechanical systems.
Project Planning: Help with planning and executing maintenance projects.
Vendor Management: Assist with vendor contracts, purchase orders, and space planning.
Facility Supplies: Ensure proper delivery of supplies like electricity, telephone, etc.
Operations Support: Assist with daily facility operations and budget management.
Project Support: Monitor ongoing projects and help ensure they stay on track.
Technology Adoption: Assist with using new technologies to improve facility systems.
Waste Management: Help with waste management operations.
Maintenance Tasks: Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
Safety Compliance: Ensure safety rules are followed by the team and contractors.
Asset Maintenance: Help with asset checks and registration.
HSE Compliance: Ensure safety regulations are followed by the team.
Facility Maintenance Areas: Assist with air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and other facility maintenance tasks.
Cost Analysis: Help analyze costs for maintenance activities.
Educate Users: Promote low-cost maintenance practices to users.
Job Cards: Ensure job cards are created for each maintenance activity.
Permit Management: Assist with issuing work permits for high-risk tasks.
Reports: Help with job completion and snag reports.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or any related field
Communicate well in both Arabic and English (written/oral)
Ability to identify issues with facilities and propose effective solutions
Familiarity with engineering software or tools used in facilities management
