Job Title: Junior Mechanical Engineer - Fabrication/CLF

Location: Jubail

Job Overview:

The Junior Mechanical Engineer in Fabrication/CLF (Cutting, Lifting, and Forming) is responsible for assisting in the design, analysis, and production processes within the fabrication and CLF departments. This role involves working closely with senior engineers and production teams to ensure that mechanical systems and components are manufactured and assembled to meet the required specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Engineering Support:
  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems used in fabrication processes.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support the selection of appropriate materials and processes for manufacturing.
  • Fabrication Process Support:
  • Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure that designs are feasible and can be effectively manufactured using available equipment and techniques.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of cutting, lifting, and forming processes to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot fabrication processes, identifying and resolving any issues that arise during production.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Participate in quality control activities to ensure that all fabricated components meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on mechanical components to verify dimensional accuracy, material properties, and overall quality.
  • Document and report any deviations from design specifications or quality standards, working with senior engineers to implement corrective actions.
  • Project Coordination:
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of fabrication projects, ensuring that deadlines are met and resources are effectively utilized.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, including documentation of design changes, fabrication processes, and inspection results.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures within the fabrication and CLF environments.
  • Ensure that all fabrication activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Participate in safety audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices within the department.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance fabrication processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements and innovations.
  • Technical Support and Training:
  • Provide technical support to the production team, answering questions and providing guidance on mechanical aspects of the fabrication process.
  • Assist in training production staff on the proper use of equipment and adherence to engineering specifications.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably with a focus on fabrication, manufacturing, or CLF processes.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing mechanical components and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, lifting, and forming.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and codes related to mechanical design and fabrication.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in design and fabrication work.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills.

Work Environment:

  • Fabrication Workshop: Frequent work in a fabrication shop environment, including exposure to machinery and production processes.
  • Office Environment: Occasional work in an office setting for design and documentation tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
  • Standing: Extended periods of standing while overseeing fabrication processes.
  • Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in the fabrication area.
