Manuka Financial is a boutique financial planning practice serving approximately 50 client households—primarily retirees and high-net-worth individuals. We take a planning first approach that is focused on delivering the best solutions for clients for a fixed fee, with an emphasis on personal relationships, transparency, and integrity.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, experienced CFP professional to be the founder’s right-hand person in all client engagements. You’ll participate in (and help lead) virtual meetings, update and maintain financial plans, handle trading, and guide clients through retirement and tax planning decisions. This position is fully remote and involves no marketing or new business development responsibilities.
- Remote Position: Strong preference for the Eastern or Central Time Zone to align with EST business hours. Exceptions will be considered.
- Core Availability:
- Tuesdays, Wednesday Afternoons, and Thursdays for client meetings
- Coverage during stock/bond market trading hours to handle trades and address client needs
- Firm Closed: All major U.S. market holidays
- Culture: Relaxed yet professional, client-centric, transparent, and highly supportive. You’ll receive direct mentorship as the second professional in the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Meeting Support
- Prepare for and attend virtual client meetings, assisting with agenda planning and note-taking
- Provide prompt post-meeting follow-up and ensure action items are accurately documented
Comprehensive Financial Planning- Create and maintain financial plans using RightCapital and Excel
- Incorporate advanced tax planning (Holistiplan), estate considerations, and retirement distribution strategies
Trading & Portfolio Management- Execute trades, rebalance portfolios, and monitor allocations via iRebal and Schwab
- Verify compliance and accuracy of trading activities in collaboration with the Principal Advisor
Account Administration- Prepare and review Schwab paperwork for new/existing accounts
- Oversee account set-up and maintenance with custodians
Client Relationship Management- Serve as a secondary point of contact, answering questions and providing day-to-day support
- Maintain all client data and communications in Wealthbox
Compliance & Continual Learning- Adhere to firm and regulatory guidelines
- Stay informed on tax law changes, planning best practices, and industry trends
Qualifications
- CFP Certification (required)
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning or wealth management, preferably working with retirees and high-net-worth clients; 5+ years preferred
- Hands-on trading/rebalancing experience
- Familiarity with RightCapital, iRebal, Wealthbox, Holistiplan, Schwab, and Excel (strongly preferred)
- Strong communication skills: empathetic, clear, organized, and patient
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working remotely with minimal oversight
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $95,000 – $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Health Insurance: A health insurance reimbursement plan will be considered where a portion of your monthly health insurance cost is reimbursed; may also look at group health insurance for the firm if you are not on a partner’s policy
- Paid Time Off:
- 3 weeks (15 days) of paid vacation per year after the first 3 months, coordinated with the lead advisor for seamless client coverage
- All major U.S. market holidays off; additional holidays also considered
