Job description

As an Estimation Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all pricing is competitive while maintaining compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to understand project requirements and scope.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  2. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to assess project scope and requirements.
  3. Identify and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers for pricing, quality, and availability.
  4. Prepare comprehensive estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
  5. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed projects.
  6. Utilize estimation software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  7. Maintain a database of costs for materials and labor, updating it as necessary.
  8. Review and verify estimates against actual costs to improve forecasting accuracy.
  9. Present estimates to management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  10. Assist with the bidding process, including preparing bid packages and submitting proposals.
  11. Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and pricing changes.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as an Estimation Engineer or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating techniques.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Strong communication and presentation skills.
  6. Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  7. Project management experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)) is an advantage.
  2. Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards.
