Responsibilities
Ensuring timely provision and correct management of data required by the ESS, ensuring the data is embodied in a timely manner to operate and maintain the aircraft efficiently.
Providing a focal point for all data changes within the ESS for both Industry (via the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC)) and the RSAF, implementing a stringent data policy regime, ensuring confidence across the TSC area in support of the flying programme and data analysis requirements of the In-Service Data Management Team.
Assessing all ESS database amendments and implementing them as authorised by the RSAF HQ.
Testing Reference and Business data changes before their implementation into the live ESS system.
Resolving user data issues and support data queries, using the live ESS instance.
Resolving reference data queries, defining amendments or issuing new data, together with issuing an implementation plan and authorising manual or automatic script file changes.
Prime the ESS ready for newly delivered aircraft and capabilities, testing and checking all new reference and business data deliveries, on behalf of the RSAF HQ.
Assessing/comparing data integrity relating to aircraft and component life stored on the separate systems of the ESS and Technical Publications.
Analysis of Technical Specialist Reports and data provided by the In-Service Data Analysis Team to identify trends or problem areas in order to determine ESS Data recovery action.
Making RSAF approved changes to Industry provided data, when this data does not conform to RSAF policies, or might impact on the operation or maintenance of the aircraft.
Assisting with the development and maintenance of TSC Processes and Procedures relating to ESS Data Integrity.
Undertaking any additional, reasonable tasks as may from time to time be requested by TSC and RSAF management.
Assisting with the structured On-the-Job training for RSAF and/or ESS Reference Data Management staff, in the form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate.
Job Requirements:
Qualified to HNC, or equivalent, in an Aeronautical / Engineering discipline, or at least 3 years experience in an aircraft support/maintenance management.
Knowledge of Technical Instruction data management principles and practices, including the requirements for continuing airworthiness management.
Knowledge of Aircraft Reference Data and Business Data principles and practices, the relationship between the data types and the requirements for continuing airworthiness management in terms of Data Management.
Experience of Typhoon or other fast jet platform.
Experience in an aircraft military support/maintenance environment at Supervisory level.
Knowledge of the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS).
Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
Familiarity with the TeamCenter application as a user.
Ideally from within BAE Systems, or currently serving within the RSAF/RAF, to ensure familiarity with Typhoon and its data management requirements.
Candidates from a non-Typhoon background with other relevant experience will be considered whereby additional training can be provided.
