General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
Monitor the performance of the Design Consultant(s) to ensure the design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
Control and manage Senior Discipline Engineers of the Project Management Team with respect to design aspects.
Manage the provision of engineering and design information in a timely manner between parties as required to support the associated stakeholders.
Identify the need for and ensure appropriate reviews and audits are implemented to support assurance of interface management performance.
Evaluate and endorse variation orders/concession requests submitted by the Design Consultant(s) for Client's approval.
Attend all meetings with Design Consultant(s), their sub-consultants, and Client's meetings.
Review project design strategy and make recommendations to the client.
Proactively support weekly and monthly interface management meetings as required to close outstanding interface issues. Suggest alternative materials/systems to improve process design, future maintenance, and construction cost.
Assist in preparing a questionnaire for the pre-qualification of design consultants and building contractors and assist in carrying out the pre-qualification and recommending a list of bidders.
Assist and monitor timely submittals of all documents from the Design Consultant(s) to all government departments until obtaining the final permits necessary to proceed with the works until final completion.
Coordinate with the regional/home office to obtain the required technical support to ensure correctness and completeness of the design.
Be informed of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures within Hill International and ensure continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum 10 years of experience after graduation.
Minimum of 5 years of design experience related to water and wastewater projects.
Experience in stakeholder management and coordination.
Experience in tender document preparation and reviews.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
