Job description
  • 5+ Years of experience with 3+ years’ experience as a Planning engineer in Substations/Overhead Transmission Line Projects or Desalination Plant is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional certifications will be an added advantage.
  • English language proficiency is a must.
  • Development of Fully Integrated Baseline EPC Level 3 Schedules in Primavera P6.
  • Development of Level 2 Schedules to support proposals.
  • Monthly updates of project master Level 3 schedules.
  • Conduct critical path analyses and recommend mitigating actions where necessary.
  • Production of progress, productive curves, and earned value reporting.
  • Recovery schedules, revised baselines, delay analysis, etc.
  • Provide more detailed cost reporting, daily or weekly updates as required.
  • Track budget and highlight budget impacts to the Project Control Manager.
  • Review target budgets in conjunction with Engineering, Project, and Construction Management.
  • Support the change control process, establishing the necessary forms, logs, and expediting methods.

Job Purpose:
Create, implement, and monitor project planning activities efficiently, in a timely manner and quality standards as per the defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.

Key Accountability Areas:

Policies & Procedures:

  • Ensure compliance with policies and guidelines to establish appropriate cost control and schedule practices for the company.

Project Schedule:

  • Create and develop project schedules (Baseline, revisions, recovery schedules) for ensuring its implementation in line with schedule best practices.
  • Develop project schedule, work breakdown structures, weightages in accordance with Alfanar Planning manuals for follow-up and control.
  • Initiate and maintain updated detail project schedules and forecasting reports based on trend analysis throughout the life cycle to ensure project health and highlight any potential risks.

Project Budget:

  • Create and maintain updated detail project cash flows and forecasting reports based on trend analysis throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Create project cost structures/breakdowns (tender budget) on SAP for ensuring the implementation of cost control procedure.
  • Reconcile/analyze the project budget revisions closely with the Finance department, increasingly in a consultancy role for verification of estimates (Actual Cost, Plan POC, Actual POC, etc.).

Project Reports:

  • Analyze project schedule, cost reports & establish reporting frequency on project-to-project stakeholders based on criticality of deliverables on daily/weekly/monthly basis.

Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or any relevant field.

Work Experience:
2 to 5 years.
