One of our valued clients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to hire for the position of Engineer - Machinery & Commissioning. The ideal candidate should possess 3-9 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding.
Job Purpose

Key Accountabilities:
A-Commissioning
1. Machinery commissioning management:
Monitoring productivity of all machinery installation activities in shipbuilding, rig construction and ensuring timely completion of works fulfilling quality and safety. Collaborating with other departments/zones to develop and implement new processes, systems, and procedures that continually increase efficiency and productivity.
2. Monitoring whole piping system and electric system:
Monitoring the whole piping system and electric system before the outfitting work is completed. Make sure the whole system is operating properly with other engineers like electrical and mechanical engineers.
3. Obtain ship owners' classification inspections of required systems:
After checking the systems, request the inspection from ship owners and classification society and obtain the approval for system according to the drawings.
4. HSE Management:
Pursuing zero harm to employees by ensuring that all machinery installation activities are executed safely in compliance with HSE standards/procedures and TDS/MSDS of paint material.
5. Resource Management:
Taking primary responsibility for allocating and managing manpower and resources for commissioning, in accordance with the project schedule and budget. Monitoring actual asset costs/man-hours against budgeted costs/man-hours and taking corrective action for overruns. Coordinating with other production departments/zones and the Asset Management group to avoid asset and resource duplication.
6. HR Management:
Assisting the Human Resource team with workforce-related issues such as site support, recruitment, transportation, disciplinary procedures, labor relations, site welfare facilities, and offsite accommodation. Contributing to all employees.
7. Relationship Management:
Maintain close relationships with Planning, Project Management, Asset Management, and HR groups, as well as field/OSV Production groups, which are crucial to the Production Management group's success.
B-Machinery
1. Machinery installation management:
Monitoring productivity of all machinery installation activities in shipbuilding, rig construction and ensuring timely completion of works fulfilling quality and safety. Collaborating with other departments/zones to develop and implement new processes, systems, and procedures that continually increase efficiency and productivity.
2. Planning for Machinery installation:
Developing a clear production execution strategy and plan for machinery installation, load analysis, block transportation/arrangement, and manpower. Planning and monitoring materials for machinery installation and consumables for the project in advance.
3. HSE Management:
Pursuing zero harm to employees by ensuring that all machinery installation activities are executed safely in compliance with HSE standards/procedures and TDS/MSDS of paint material.
4. Resource Management:
Taking primary responsibility for allocating and managing manpower and resources for machinery installation work, in accordance with the project schedule and budget. Monitoring actual asset costs/man-hours against budgeted costs/man-hours and taking corrective action for overruns. Coordinating with other production departments/zones and the Asset Management group to avoid asset and resource duplication.
5. Space Planning:
Planning and managing the use of machinery installation area which are the movable shelters and yard space based on current project requirements and potential project awards.
6. Training for Pre-outfitting:
Preparing work procedures and instructions for all machinery installation activities required for shipbuilding and rig projects. Preparing machinery installation training materials for workers and production managers and conducting appropriate training regularly.
7. HR Management:
Assisting the Human Resource team with workforce-related issues such as site support, recruitment, transportation, disciplinary procedures, labor relations, site welfare facilities, and offsite accommodation. Contributing to the development of all employees.
