Emergency Nurse

Responsibilities:

1. Triage patients based on severity of condition and prioritize care accordingly.
2. Perform rapid, accurate assessments and initiate appropriate interventions.
3. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as per protocols and physician orders.
4. Monitor and document patient progress and report changes to the healthcare team.

Clinical Skills:

1. Operate and monitor medical equipment (e.g., defibrillators, cardiac monitors, ventilators, ECG).
2. Perform wound care, suturing, IV insertion, and other emergency medical procedures.
3. Help in managing trauma cases, cardiac events, and other critical situations.
4. Communicate effectively with physicians, paramedics, and other members of the healthcare team.
5. Participate in resuscitation efforts and emergency procedures.
6. Provide support and guidance to patients’ families during critical situations.

Compliance and Safety:

1. Adhere to infection control policies and emergency room protocols.
2. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments and care plans.
3. Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
4. Stay updated on the latest ER nursing practices and certifications.
5. Participate in staff training, quality improvement initiatives, and simulations.
