Job description

We have immediate vacant positions for the position "Medical / Clinical Doctors, Staff Physician in Emergency Medicine" for a highly reputed & internationally acclaimed Saudi Arabian Government Hospital in TAIF Region in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Attends & performs clinical patient care shift duties, of his/her assigned shift area in the ED (Triage, AC & UCC). Commensurate with his/her education, experience, credentialing, and job description.
  2. Assists, as requested, in the design, implementation, reviews, and updates of Policies & Procedures for the ED every 2 years.
  3. Orients, advises & updates members/colleagues in the ED regarding the most currently revised hospital and department policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
  4. Keeps his/her certification status (BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS) updated.
  5. Participates, as requested, in the implementation of the ED Performance Improvement Plan (PIP); criteria, standards & indicators to evaluate, monitor, and implement changes and re-evaluates changes to improve the quality and appropriateness of practice provided by the department; in accordance with JCIA standards.
  6. Attends and participates in assigned departmental & hospital committees.
  7. Liaison & coordination with Patient Relations Officers & or Supervisor on patient complaints, sick leave issuance, medical report issuance & follow-up.
  8. Assists in conducting annual performance appraisals of ED department staff as requested by ED Chairman.
  9. Participates in the maintenance of medical contingency disaster plans for the ED.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Chairman / Deputy Chairman / RAM Division Head Department of Emergency Medicine, which are within the post-holder's qualifications and capabilities.
  11. Assists in the oversight of the daily operation of his/her assigned area in ED.
  12. Adhere to hospital, departmental regulations pertaining to essential physician ED Chart, Best Care documentation, utilization of personal I.D. stamps, and Best Care electronic medical records applications as per current phase.
  13. Attends and participates in the monthly departmental staff meetings.
  14. Attends and participates in the periodic ED Staff Physician meetings, mortality and morbidity, and quality improvement or other ad-hoc meetings; as requested.
  15. Self-monitors, interprets, and reports concerning statistics, productivity, utilization, and meeting established departmental indicators and standards.
  16. Liaison & coordination on operational issues with the Nursing Division Leadership.
  17. Residency Training Program participation; including attendance to (>50%) of the resident half-day activities.
  18. Become familiar and competently understand his/her role expectations during Disaster Response (Code Black).
