Job description
Job Title: Security Systems Consultant

The Security Systems Lead Consultant is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of security systems within the clients' sites.

This role involves working with a variety of security technologies, including CCTV, intrusion detection systems, security drone surveillance, physical barriers, visitor management systems, control and command centers, evacuation systems, emergency warning systems, access control, radio communication, intercoms, hostile vehicle mitigation, security radars, personnel & vehicle screening, and security project management, video analytics, and more. The Security Systems Lead ensures that these systems are effectively implemented and utilized to protect the organization's assets, people, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the implementation and improve the approved Security Management System.
  2. Lead and support the Licensing and Permits Team in County Management in processing and issuing related licenses and permits and ensuring compliance with technical standards and specifications.
  3. Ensure to maintain all security systems at an effective operational level at all times.
  4. Lead the documentation process for the accidents and resolutions for the purposes of analysis and documentation.
  5. Provide recommendations for improvement of standards, procedures, and policies.
  6. Security Systems Planning and Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess security needs and develop comprehensive security system plans for various security applications.
  7. Implementation and Integration: Oversee the implementation and integration of security systems, ensuring that they are properly installed, configured, and tested. Coordinate with teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  8. Maintenance and Upgrades: Review and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for security systems. Conduct regular inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues. Plan and execute system upgrades or replacements as necessary to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  9. Monitoring and Incident Response: Implement monitoring protocols and procedures to ensure the continuous operation of security systems. Monitor system alerts and notifications, investigate security incidents, and take appropriate action to address them. Collaborate with security operations teams to develop incident response plans and conduct post-incident analysis for continuous improvement.
  10. Create and maintain project documentation, including system manuals, standard operating procedures, and user guides. Provide technical support and guidance to users as needed.
  11. Security Project Management: Lead security system projects from initiation to completion. Develop project plans, define project scope and objectives, allocate resources, and manage project timelines and budgets. Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  12. System Integration and Collaboration: Collaborate with IT teams and other relevant departments to integrate security systems with existing infrastructure, network, and data management systems. Ensure interoperability and data sharing between security systems and other systems.
  13. Develop and document security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines that comply with industry best practices and regulations.
  14. Provide technical guidance and support to other security teams and stakeholders on security-related issues and questions.
  15. Research and evaluate new security technologies and products that can enhance the security of the organization.
  16. Stay updated on the latest security trends and threats in the security field.
  17. Implement security best practices and methodologies, such as risk assessment, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, incident response, etc.
  18. Facilitate cross-channel feedback from stakeholders and employees to management and executive teams in order to improve performance.
  19. Deliver all other objectives as deemed necessary by the Line manager.

Requirements

Qualification & Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field (Master's Degree Preferred).
  2. 8 years of proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing security systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection systems, access control, and related technologies.
  3. Experience in security project management is highly desirable. Knowledge of physical security concepts, industry standards, and emerging trends is beneficial.
  4. Strong technical proficiency in security systems and technologies, including CCTV, intrusion detection systems, access control, and related software. Familiarity with network protocols, data encryption, and cybersecurity principles. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  5. Strong analytical skills to assess security risks, identify vulnerabilities, and propose effective solutions. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to security systems.
  6. Strong problem-solving abilities to develop innovative approaches and strategies.
  7. Written and oral proficiency in the English language.
  8. Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  9. Strong leadership abilities to lead cross-functional teams and manage security projects.
  10. Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate system design, documentation, and implementation. Ability to identify potential risks and weaknesses in security systems and implement appropriate mitigations.
  12. Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and applications, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Windows, Linux, etc.
  13. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
