As an Electrical Technician, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and upgrade of all electrical power systems throughout the plant, including medium and low voltage utilities. This role also involves maintaining and upgrading all site low current systems. The technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical circuits and equipment, ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations, performs routine inspections, and addresses any electrical issues to maintain optimal performance and reliability of plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the maintenance of electrical installation MV (13.8kv) Panels to maintain them in condition to provide continuous electrical supply to the factory as per design specifications.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of HV/LV transformer systems to maintain them in condition to provide continuous electrical supply to the factory as per design specifications.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of electrical installation LV Panels to maintain them in condition to provide continuous electrical supply to the factory as per design specifications, this includes:
    • All LV Compartments.
    • All LV Switch boards Panels.
    • LV Main Breaker switch board panels.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all Distribution Board panels & load circuit.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of MCC Panel Maintenance including:
    • MCC Single compartments.
    • MCC variable speed compartments.
    • MCC main breaker compartments.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of low current systems including:
    • Fire Detection system.
    • Paging systems.
  • Monitor for the operation of BMS system.
  • Maintaining log books for each system.
  • Maintaining all the systems according to manufacturer recommendations and as specified in the PPM.
  • Ensure the use of CMMS systems to record all maintenance routine and incidental maintenance.
  • Operate systems as per established SOPs designed to ensure all documentation is kept up to date and meets the current complying Local and GES & QMS Standards.
  • Work closely with other team members as and when required.
  • Ensure that all tools and test equipment are kept in a safe and calibrated state prior to use.
  • Attend and positively respond to training courses to improve work skills.
  • Strictly adhere to Glaxo Environmental, Health and Safety instructions as per site EHS policy and procedures to avoid accidents.
  • Ensure the reporting of abnormal incidents, conditions, or near misses that may result in damage to other GSK staff, property, or company reputation.
  • Comply with all related Group Quality (QMS) Engineering Standards (GES), EHS Standards Policy requirements.
  • Ensure full familiarity and implementation of all applicable GSK Corporate Governance Policies.
  • Spare parts must be requested in CMMS before physical issuance from the engineering store.
  • Inform supervisor of material required and/or shortage of materials in order to carry out the task.
  • Monitoring of systems functions on a daily basis and the data recording.
Accountability:
  • Responsible for carrying out breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting of the programmable controllers.
  • Ensure the use of CMMS system to record all routine and incidental maintenance, review breakdown history and update the PPM routines as preventative measures.
  • Ensure adherence to all authored SOPs are kept up to date.
  • Carry out modifications related to systems engineering changes or capital projects.
  • Attend all electrical works including breakdowns, maintenance, and safety-related issues.
  • Participate where required in electrical works related to new projects & modifications carried all over the site.
  • Work closely with other team members as and when required.
  • Ensure that all tools and test equipment are kept in a safe and calibrated state prior to use.
  • Attend and positively respond to training courses to improve work skills.
  • Keep the logbooks (ELBs) maintained and up to date.
  • Comply with all site and relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Strictly adhere to Glaxo Environmental, Health and Safety instructions as per site EHS Policy and Procedures to prevent accidents and deliver EHS Targets.
  • Ensure the reporting of abnormal incidents, conditions, or near misses that may result in damage to other GSK staff, property, or reputation.
  • Comply with all related Group Quality Policies requirements.
  • Accountable for individually identified risks and escalate to the line manager, where applicable develop risk mitigation plan and monitor the implementation plan.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Diploma / associate degree in electrical or Electromechanics.
  • 3 to 5 years practical experience in electrical inspections and maintenance in an Industrial environment (preferred pharmaceutical industry).
  • Good command of spoken and written English Language.
