Electrical Technician (Commercial Vehicles)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician to join our team, specializing in commercial vehicles, particularly trucks. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of electrical systems in heavy-duty vehicles and have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Diagnostics:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in commercial vehicles, with a focus on trucks.
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in vehicle systems. - Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, battery systems, and alternators.
Repair or replace faulty components, such as starters, sensors, and control modules. - Upgrades and Installation:
Install and configure new electrical components, such as GPS systems, telematics, and auxiliary equipment.
Conduct upgrades to existing electrical systems to enhance performance and compliance with standards. - Troubleshooting:
Resolve complex electrical issues, ensuring vehicles meet safety and performance standards.
Provide recommendations for preventive measures to avoid recurring issues. - Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all work adheres to industry safety standards and regulations.
Document all repairs and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
Diploma or equivalent certification in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical work related to commercial vehicles, especially trucks.
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools specific to heavy-duty vehicles.
Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with CAN-bus systems, telematics, and modern vehicle electronics.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Valid driver’s license is preferred.
