JOB PURPOSE:

  • To carry out Electrical maintenance work for all equipment in the Reverse osmosis plant to achieve reliable, continuous and safe operation.
  • To apply specialist Electrical expertise in order to ensure the efficient operations of the Electrical Department at Engie Al Jubail for O&M RO Plant.
  • To ensure plant Electrical equipment is maintained as per Procedures documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management System and as per instructions of the Electrical engineer.
  • To assist Electrical engineer ensuring that all Electrical equipment is well maintained and all notifications of planned and unplanned work are completed on time.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Completes all Work Orders generated in Computerized Maintenance Management system as directed by the Electrical Engineer.
  • Generates reports (mainly log sheets/check sheets) as necessary for the maintenance done.
  • Ensures that maintenance of all Electrical equipment is in accordance with OEM Manuals for the equipment.
  • Reviews Electrical Maintenance Procedures and suggests improvements.
  • Works to his full potential and does high quality work.
  • Supports reliable and accessible 24-hour call-out functionality.
  • Attempts all possible means of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high Plant availability.
  • Performs troubleshooting activities as necessary along with the Electrical Engineer and colleagues to determine failure conditions and rectifies the defects found.
  • Records and reports to the Electrical Engineer all rectification jobs undertaken.
  • Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with Electrical equipment under the guidance of Electrical Engineer.
  • Discuss planned and unplanned jobs undertaken with Electrical Engineer.
  • Assist the Electrical Engineer in planning daily jobs.
  • Ensures necessary tooling is available at work sites during performance on any job.
  • Uses correct tools for each job.
  • Reports loss of tools or damage to any tools to the Electrical Engineer.
  • Informs Electrical Engineer of any requirements for tools.
  • Ensures that tools are in good working order.
  • Manage the contract manpower & contract services in a very cost effective way with desired quality.
  • Establish high level cross functional collaborations for all inter departmental tasks.
  • Assumes ownership of plant Electrical equipment and strives to keep them in the best possible condition.

  • Follow all relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions so that personal safety/the safety of others is not jeopardized and a minimum level of product/service quality and environmental impact can be guaranteed.
  • Comply with Local legislations, Engie Al Jubail for O&M company HSES Policy and procedures.
  • To be Responsible and accountable for safety of himself, others and the environmental protection.
  • Report and mitigate unsafe acts/conditions, near misses and accidents.
  • The Job Holder will work in a controlled hazardous environment.

Work Levels and Conditions and Risks:

  • Work Level 5 (OSHA scale 1 to 6): the tasks that he performs as part of their daily work activities represent risks and are controlled by means of procedures, supervision, safety devices and HSE Teams in such a way that its non-observance could lead to a serious accident or even death.

Exposure to Risks:

  • Traffic/automobile accidents, ergonomic problems and accidents.
  • Risks inherent to the job of the Head of Electrical while performing inspections, site visits, operations and maintenance activities, etc.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Hard hat/safety helmet.
  • Ear protection (plugs or ear muffs).

Recommended HPE (Health Protection Equipment):

  • Ergonomic office equipment.

Medical Exams/Laboratory Exams before Taking the Position:

  • Complete medical physical examination.
  • Visual acuity examination.
  • Color blindness test.
  • PFT (lung capacity).
  • Audiometric test.

Recommended for persons older than 45 years:

  • Laboratory tests: complete blood biometrics, blood chemistry: 3 elements (glucose, urea and creatine) and a general exam of urine.
  • Electrocardiogram.
  • X-ray PA of thorax.

Medical Criteria for the Position:

  • High Blood Pressure: not to present a TA greater than 135/85 in case of present alteration and individual monitoring program.
  • Obesity: in case of obesity, implement a monitoring and reduction of weight program.

JOB CONTEXT:

  • Engie Al Jubail for O&M Company operates & maintains the SWRO Plant of 570,000 M3/Day net potable water capacity. Engie Al Jubail for O&M Company is a single shareholder Limited liability company established under the laws of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Engie Al Jubail for O&M Company performs services through an O&M agreement for the Owner of the SWRO Plant: Al Jubail International Water Company.
  • The project is a Greenfield IWP with a 25 year WPA with single off-taker Saudi Water Partnership Company.
  • The Job Holder will be based at Jubail 3B SWRO Plant that will be located in the city of Jubail on the Arabian Gulf coast in eastern Saudi Arabia, around 100 kilometers from Dammam. The Jubail 3B SWRO Plant will serve Riyadh and Qassim with potable water. The plant will include storage tanks with one day's production capacity in addition to in-house solar capacity to reduce power consumption from the kingdom's national grid.
  • The Job Holder as permit acceptor manages the Electrical jobs in a safe and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3 year Diploma / or equivalent in Electrical Technology.

Experience:

  • 3 years experience of working with Electrical maintenance in similar industrial setup preferably a power and Water (RO) plant or large size utility or petrochemical plant.

Skills:

Technical:

  • Good experience in the maintenance and repair of power plant equipment, preferably in a power and RO plant.
  • Familiar with working principles of installed Electrical equipment and latest technology related to the electrical field, including proficiency in fault finding using available test instruments.
  • Maintain cordial relationship with co-employees, sub-ordinates and superiors and any other persons with regard to his job.
  • Good knowledge and hands on experience with MV/LV switchgear maintenance.
  • Good Experience in Rotating machines electrical maintenance including overhaul and inspection activities.
  • Good Knowledge and hands on experience with MV/LV motors maintenance.
  • Good knowledge in reading single line diagrams/control circuits and troubleshooting.
  • Hands on experience with maintenance of Generator excitation system/GT starting device and all other Generator auxiliaries.
  • Good knowledge in repair Electrical actuators.
  • Good knowledge about safety standards while working with High voltage systems.
  • Good knowledge about cathodic Protection system.
  • Good knowledge of air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
  • Good knowledge in spoken and written English.
  • Good knowledge about Health & Safety Systems.
  • Familiar with ERP systems like SAP and working knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Shall be aware of the chemical handling procedures and hazards associated with the process related equipment of water desalination plant.
  • Should be well versed with the Lock out Tag Out process to ensure the safety from system.
  • Working knowledge of Environmental Regulations as they pertain to the operations and maintenance of a water producing facility.
  • Able to handle all work related to Electrical engineer during his absence.
