Electrical Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Home Automation Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems related to smart home devices, lighting controls, security systems, and other home automation technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of both electrical systems and the latest automation technologies to provide exceptional service and installation experiences to homeowners.Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Setup:
   Install, configure, and wire various home automation systems, including lighting controls, security systems, HVAC, entertainment systems, and other smart home devices.
   Work with low-voltage and high-voltage systems, ensuring they meet local electrical codes and safety standards.
2. Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
   Diagnose and repair issues with home automation systems, such as malfunctioning sensors, connectivity issues, or power disruptions.
   Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to existing systems, ensuring the longevity and functionality of installations.
3. System Integration:
   Integrate various home automation technologies to work seamlessly together, such as voice control, remote monitoring, and smart devices.
   Assist clients in connecting their devices to centralized control hubs or apps.
4. Client Interaction:
   Provide expert advice to homeowners on system setup and operation.
   Train clients on how to use their smart home systems effectively.
   Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and providing professional solutions.
5. Safety Compliance:
   Ensure all installations and repairs are performed according to local electrical codes and industry safety standards.
   Prioritize safety during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities to prevent accidents.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
   Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and troubleshooting reports.
   Provide detailed and clear documentation for clients regarding their home automation systems.
7. Collaboration:
   Work alongside project managers, designers, and other electricians to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in electrical or home automation technology is a plus.
2. Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience as an electrician, with a focus on residential or home automation systems.
3. Certifications: Valid electrician's license (where applicable). Certifications in home automation technologies (e.g., KNX, Loxone, Zigbee, Z-Wave) are a plus.
4. Skills:
   Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and circuit installation.
   Familiarity with home automation technologies (e.g., lighting control, HVAC systems, smart security, audio/video).
   Proficiency in system troubleshooting and maintenance.
   Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
   Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
2. Comfort working in attics, basements, or other confined spaces.
3. Ability to work at heights and use ladders safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of home networking and Wi-Fi systems.
2. Experience with smart home platforms (e.g., Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit).
3. Familiarity with programming and setting up automation scenarios for smart devices.
