Electrical Technician

As an Electrical Technician, you will perform a range of electrical tasks, including wiring, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. Your role involves ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems and adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components, including wiring, fixtures, and appliances.
2. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts and installation procedures.
3. Test electrical systems and components for functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
4. Troubleshoot electrical problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
5. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
6. Replace or repair faulty electrical components, such as switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
7. Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards in all work activities.
8. Collaborate with other trades and contractors on construction projects to ensure proper coordination of electrical work.
9. Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
10. Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance staff or apprentices.
11. Keep abreast of developments in electrical technology, codes, and standards.
12. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and electrical hazards.
13. Respond to emergency calls and service requests to address electrical issues promptly.
14. Estimate material and labor costs for electrical projects and repairs.
15. Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure timely completion of work and customer satisfaction.

Requirements and Qualifications:

1. Diploma or equivalent education; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training in electrical work.
2. Journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification preferred.
3. Proven experience as an electrical technician or electrician, with knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
4. Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
7. Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment, such as multimeters, wire strippers, and conduit benders.
8. Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, lifting, and climbing.
9. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing electrical work.
10. Customer service orientation and professionalism.
