Job Description

• Reporting to Site Resident Engineer, has shared responsibility and accountability for both company CAPEX expenditures and operational plant upgrades/modifications.
• In charge of all low voltage and medium voltage electrical works including installation and commissioning of all electrical system components.
• Responsible for implementation of design and construction contracts for all electrical works including related activities including:
• Conduct site supervision, inspection, and quality assurance of all field activities including materials and workmanship.
• Ensure that works are carried out by the contractor in accordance with construction contract documents and conform to proper and standard quality work practices.
• Witness field tests conducted by contractor, monitor and ensure that test results conform to requirements.
• Monitor workplace safety and ensure safe delivery and installation of construction contract scopes.
• Ensure progress delivery against contract schedule and milestones including schedule update.
• Provide recommendations related to planned work activities for constructability and maintainability.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on all construction related activities including discrepancies or problems related to the works.
• Must be fully conversant with construction contract drawings, specifications, and requirements.
• Responsible for in-house review of design and shop drawings submittals and maintain record of updated drawings.
• Responsible for in-house review of material and equipment submittals including maintaining their catalog and manufacturer’s instructions to ensure their proper installations on site.
• Responsible for keeping site inspection records and daily site activity reports.
• Identify work areas which require special attention, specific construction procedures and techniques and discuss the same with the contractor.
• Keep records of and attends to all site and factory tests conducted on materials and equipment.
• Responsible for on-site measurement of works including progress payment review and certification.
• Maintain proper coordination and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies requirements.
• Attend periodic coordination meetings with the construction contractor, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.
• Responsible for reviewing and checking contractor’s submitted request for changes (variation orders).
• Review and approve testing and commission procedures and ensure that their compliance with applicable codes and standards together with vendors and suppliers, as applicable.
• Witness and inspect records of testing and commissioning tasks and assist in work handing over to operating team.
• Monitor preparation of as-built drawings reflecting actual site conditions including review and approval of the same.
• Review and approve operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and guarantees of installed materials and equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Holding a valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate is preferred.
• Proven influential leadership skills in previous areas of responsibility.
• 10 years of previous work experience with engineering consultancy firm in managing and supervising construction contracts.
• Work knowledge and Experience in KSA.
• Proven and reliable employment track record.
• Fully conversant with American and/or international engineering standards, National Electric Code (NEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), good engineering practices, electrical safety codes, and economic principles.
• Work and coordination experience with Saudi Electrical Company (SEC) and Royal Commission (RC) are preferred.
• Good motivational skills.
