Electrical Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

The candidates will be responsible for:

1. Troubleshoot, support maintenance execution, testing and project commissioning, electrical systems recovery, and any necessary field activities to keep the system running and reliable.
2. Prepare schedules of work and provide direction for the preparation of conceptual and/or basic designs of electrical and industrial facilities.
3. Lead engineering data analysis pertinent to complex electrical problems concerning technical issues, scope, economic value, long-range planning, and budgetary considerations in the in-charged area to support the requirement of entire plant-related activities, including high voltage and low voltage.
4. Execute studies and analysis for existing electrical equipment.
5. Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions from it.
6. Apply RCM, RCA, FMECA, PMO, and any tools or methodology for reliability analysis and management of electrical assets.
7. Evaluate the current situation/condition and look for potential improvement opportunities and utilize them to enhance the electrical equipment/plant reliability.
8. Recommend new modifications to improve existing facilities. Strive for improvement and suggest new ideas and methods for achieving better results.
9. Demonstrate ability to translate electrical improvement techniques into engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability.
10. Develop technical reports and deliver them to the executive management when necessary.
11. Conduct lessons learned sessions, lead change management and process implementation of changes, prepare scope of work for Turnaround, develop work schedules, and shutdown execution strategies.
12. Deliver training on various technical topics to engineer, maintenance, and system operation staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering discipline.
• 3 years of experience in refining and/or petrochemical industry HV&LV Electrical systems operation, maintenance, testing, and reliability.
• Sound experience in handling complex electrical engineering issues in the in-charged area to ensure that work is completed as per the set targets, maintain engineering standards about electrical engineering standards, and PRC requirements.
• Ability to select and implement predictive maintenance technologies for all electrical equipment in petrochemical facilities.
• Practical working knowledge of international standards and specifications. Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards will be a plus.
• Sound knowledge and experience analyzing results of electrical testing techniques (Insul. Resistance, Partial Discharge, Tan Delta, IR Thermography, etc.).
• Experience in the maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of oil and gas electrical facilities, including but not limited to LV/HV switchgear, transformers, motors, UPS, EDGs, and electrical protections.
• Strong analytical skills, orientation to results, conceptualization skills, and leadership skills.
• Experience in leading teams and supervision.
• Advanced computer literacy (Office tools, CMMS - SAP applications, software for power system analysis and protection coordination, ETAP or similar).
