Job Description

The Food and Beverage Manager position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a key role in the hospitality and tourism industry, responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations within a facility. The job description includes the following responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management: Manage all aspects of the food and beverage department, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and room service. Ensure smooth operations, adherence to quality standards, and exceptional guest experiences.
  2. Menu Planning: Develop menus and beverage offerings in line with customer preferences, industry trends, and cost considerations. Monitor and analyze customer feedback to make necessary adjustments and improvements.
  3. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for the food and beverage department, controlling costs and maximizing revenue. Monitor inventory, pricing, and expenses, implementing strategies for profitability.
  4. Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise food and beverage staff, including servers, bartenders, chefs, and support staff. Set performance expectations, provide ongoing training, and ensure adherence to service standards and hygiene practices.
  5. Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service by overseeing the quality of food, beverages, and service delivery. Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
  6. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling, preparation, and service. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
  7. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and quality delivery of food and beverage products. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that may arise.
  8. Event Management: Coordinate and oversee special events, banquets, and catering services. Collaborate with clients to plan menus, determine seating arrangements, and ensure successful execution of events.
  9. Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competition, and customer preferences. Conduct market research to identify opportunities for revenue growth and innovative food and beverage offerings.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, cost control, and service standards.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle guest concerns and inquiries.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and service.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to the job.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and excellence.
