Job Description: The Accounting Supervisor / Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the toll manufacturing company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient management of financial processes. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, assisting in preparing budgets, and providing Monthly Reporting to the Department’s Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide management with financial performance insights.
- Cost Accounting:
- Implement and maintain cost accounting systems specific to toll manufacturing operations.
- Analyze production, costs, variances, and profitability to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Monitor raw material usage, labor, and overhead costs, ensuring accurate product costing.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in developing annual budgets in collaboration with other departments.
- Prepare periodic financial forecasts to support business planning.
- Assist in monitoring budget adherence and identify variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and vendor overdue payments.
- Manage relationships with vendors and customers to resolve financial discrepancies.
- Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
- Liaise with external auditors and coordinate audit processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit readiness.
- Inventory and Fixed Assets Management:
- Monitor and reconcile inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in the system.
- Track fixed assets, manage depreciation schedules, and ensure proper asset accounting.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and systems for better efficiency.
- Implement best practices in financial management and reporting.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and development.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and production teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CMA or equivalent certification preferred but not mandatory).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in manufacturing or toll manufacturing.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MS Dynamics or QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with occasional visits to manufacturing sites.
- May require extended hours during financial closing periods or audits.
