Job description

Duties & Responsibilities (shall include but not be limited to):

  1. Meet with customers Superintendent weekly to discuss rig operations for respective rigs.
  2. Review daily customer and internal morning reports for discrepancies and any errors while working with OIM to ensure training of corrections occur.
  3. Participate in HSE share call.
  4. Participate in Daily rig update call for respective rigs.
  5. Review daily and approve AFE's, Payroll, ORA's and all other workflows for respective rigs.
  6. Authorize procurement of equipment or materials daily for respective rigs, up to value determined by the DOA, based on assessment of operational needs.
  7. Work with onshore support departments for alignment with any offshore rig needs or requirements.
  8. Meet weekly with HR specialist for respective rigs on manpower shortages and potential movements.
  9. First point of contact from the respective rigs for ANY Well Control, Injury or High Potential incident. Shall then contact respective Operations Manager with initial details of occurrence.

Monthly:

  1. Review respective rig P&L's focusing on variances.
  2. Review P&L's with OIM focusing on variances.
  3. Review rig scorecard with OIM to ensure focus is given to area's trailing to KPI.
  4. Review Open PO reports to ensure critical orders are not past due and what impact this may have on the rigs.
  5. Review and ensure rig crews competencies are being maintained per customer and company requirements.
  6. Review and submit rig Open Orders needing to be accrued based on completion of services.
  7. Review all respective rigs open MOC's and discuss with rig management team.
  8. Review all internal and external rig audits with OIM to ensure onshore support that is required and timing of closing out each report. This shall include but not limited to: Internal, Customer and Regulatory.
  9. Report out to the Operations Management team rig P&L's, Downtime and Safety events for that month.
  10. Meet with customers Superintendent and Drilling Engineer to discuss rig operations performance KPI's for respective rigs.
  11. Visit one or more of respective offshore rigs focusing on rig needs and employee satisfaction.
  12. Support interviews for offshore positions.
  13. Visit warehouse to review material that has been sent in from the rigs awaiting disposition and overall condition of material at the warehouse.
  14. Forecasting of Cap-Ex, Extraordinary R&M and Revenue should be reviewed and submitted for the next 18 months.
  15. Visit pipe yard to review storage of tubulars and other material located at yard.

Annually:

  1. Develop and review next year budget for respective rigs by working with OIM (rig management team) and shore base support groups.
  2. Develop rig operations strategy for each respective rig focusing on operations performance, safety, and future rig equipment requirements.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities (shall include but not be limited to):

  1. Strategic input to business strategy and translate strategy to goals and objectives for rigs.
  2. Participate in setting operational targets for both offshore and onshore locations and measure performance on an annual basis.
  3. Ensure the rigs pursues business goals in compliance with corporate policy and procedures, and legislative and industry requirements.
  4. Support delivery of ongoing business objectives through regular offshore rig visits and chairing weekly management meetings.
  5. Ensure that the necessary resources are in place to enable the company to achieve a safe, effective, and efficient operation offshore.
  6. Ensure periodic review of safety cases for offshore installations is performed and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  7. Provide visible leadership and serve as role model to employees.
  8. Mentor, coach and develop employees in meeting company expectations.
  9. Provide support and guidance to offshore rig management team in achieving their goals.
  10. In liaison with HSE Manager, ensure safety of all offshore and onshore employees.
  11. Support development of all personnel in area.
  12. Actively participate in office-based safety programs.
  13. Support development and participate emergency response process and associated activities.
