Wood is currently looking for a Cost Controller to join our team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects.
- Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring they align with budgets.
- Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities.
Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR)
- Perform regular CVR analysis to compare actual costs against forecasted values.
- Track project performance, profitability, and variances.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.
Project Valuations
- Conduct interim valuations and manage applications for payment.
- Prepare and submit accurate project valuation reports to clients.
Procurement And Contract Management
- Assist with procurement processes, including tendering and negotiation.
- Review, draft, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, and payments.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and analyze project financial reports, including profit/loss assessments.
- Ensure alignment with financial regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end reporting.
Risk Management
- Identify financial and operational risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Collaboration And Communication
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders.
- Present financial data and CVR findings to senior management.
- Provide guidance to team members on cost control and reporting practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are advantageous.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying and/or accounting, with a focus on CVR.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in CVR processes and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial and project management software (e.g., Sage, Xero, MS Excel).
- Knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and practices in quantity surveying and accounting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
