Senior Technician, Electrica

Responsibilities:

1. Read, understand & troubleshoot the electrical circuit diagrams of medium voltage systems, LV system, DC Rectifier with backup system, UPS, 13.8KV MV transformers, MV/LV control systems to attend the faults.
2. Safely operate the 13.8 KV Medium Voltage & Low Voltage Switchgears, Panels, Transformers Independently.
3. Maintenance background of plant overall fire and safety (FACP) Detection, Ejection system and fire pump house equipment.
4. Maintenance background of plant overhead cranes and heavy mobile equipment’s 24VDC electrical circuits.
5. Initiate/Receive the work permits as per the procedure for works being carried out in the power plant.
6. Carry out the SAP PM assigned task by the foreman within the target period in coordination with colleagues.
7. Safe method of using appropriate power tools in MV/LV system & materials for the jobs assigned.
8. Ensure that there is no wastage of material.
9. Assist in identification of potential hazards and communicate the same to the seniors.
10. Maintain neatness and cleanliness at the place of work.
11. Monitor the parameters of the DG sets & its auxiliaries & initiate action in case of any deviations for operation-related supporting activities.
12. Safety follow-up as stated below:
1. Importance and awareness of PPE.
2. Awareness of Arc flash safety procedures.
3. Awareness of Work permits, types, LOTO, FACP and method of follow-up.
4. Awareness of First aid during electrical shock.

Report near misses/incidents in the work area and participate in all activities relating to the removal of Electrical Hazard in the work area.
