System Design: Working closely with vendors to develop detailed specifications and system design documents based on the gathered requirements, ensuring that the proposed solutions align with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
Application Development and Testing: Overseeing the development and implementation of aviation applications, including flight management systems, passenger services systems, and resource management systems.
Integration and Deployment: Ensuring smooth integration of aviation applications with internal and external parties in coordination with IT Infrastructure and integration teams.
System Troubleshooting and Support: Investigating and resolving system issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks related to aviation applications.
Documentation and Training: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for aviation applications, including user manuals, system diagrams, and technical specifications. Enhancing transparency with vendors by creating templates for periodical reports, completion reports, and incident reports while closely following the process with them. Conducting training sessions or workshops to educate end-users on the features and functionalities of new or updated applications.
Continuous Improvement: Staying up to date with the latest trends and advancements in aviation technology and regulations. Identifying opportunities to enhance existing systems or develop new applications to improve operational efficiency, safety, and compliance in the aviation industry.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring application quality through continuous monitoring, testing, and performance optimization.
Regulations Alignment: Ensuring compliance and alignment with aviation, cybersecurity, and data regulations.
Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of service providers by conducting monthly meetings, collecting periodical reports, and ensuring alignment with agreed KPIs.
Requests Management: Following up on end-user requests, ensuring resolution of the requests, and managing the approval processes with stakeholders, regulators, and IT management.
Application Administration: Overseeing the administration of aviation applications, roles, users, and resources.
Routine Tasks: Performing assigned periodical routine tasks to ensure adherence to industry-recommended preventive maintenance and systems availability.
Audit Reports: Managing the closure of audit findings with service providers and vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
At least 8+ years of experience supporting aviation applications.
Experience in airport management systems.
Experience with Flight Systems and Operations.
Ability to work in an application support role and convey technical information to both technical and non-technical users.
Ability to focus on mentally challenging technical problems that may take significant time to resolve.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used in the software development life cycle.
Knowledge of interface construction.
Possessing excellent communication skills through a variety of methods, essential for keeping stakeholders well-informed as well as the internal and wider team. Strong customer service experience, including documentation and training skills, is essential.
