Overview

We are seeking an Educational Psychologist to join the Apprentice Administration Division.

The Apprentice Administration Division is responsible for the Mental Health and Resilience Program, supporting trainees in achieving emotional, psychological, and social well-being.

As an Educational Psychologist you will be responsible to create a safe and supportive environment where trainees can develop resilience, improve mental well-being, and succeed both academically and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide psychological counseling tailored to the needs of trainees.
  2. Address specific mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, and social-emotional development.
  3. Conduct assessments of trainees’ mental health needs.
  4. Develop and monitor personalized care plans to ensure effective interventions.
  5. Identify and manage potential risk issues through early detection in collaboration with the career counselors and academic trainers.
  6. Design and implement educational activities, such as support groups, focus groups, and workshops, to promote awareness and resilience.
  7. Facilitate discussions on coping mechanisms, stress management, and emotional well-being.
  8. Collaborate with the Mental Health and Resilience Program team to ensure alignment with the program’s goals.
  9. Assist in monitoring the program’s impact on trainees and propose continuous improvements.
  10. Maintain records and statistics of daily activities, counseling sessions, and educational initiatives.
  11. Provide periodic reports and insights to program stakeholders considering the confidentiality and integrity aspects.
  12. Work closely with career counselors, administration teams, and trainers to integrate mental health support into broader training initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in educational psychology or related discipline (developmental psychology, educational counseling, school social work or sociotherapy) from an accredited university. Advanced degree is a plus.
  2. Valid and recognized educational psychology training.
  3. Minimum of 4 years of experience as an educational psychologist, special education instructor, counselor, advisor or relevant role that involves the application of educational psychological theory and praxis.
  4. Experience working with people who have a wide range of disabilities and needs.
  5. Good knowledge of current special needs topics and service methodologies.
  6. Ability to conduct evaluative testing and assessments to support creation of Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).
  7. Endowed with a patient, resourceful, and resilient personality, and able to be sensitive, empathetic and willing to establish rapport with individuals.
  8. Ability to cope with emotional situations, owning excellent listening and observational skills.
  9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Arabic and English.
