Our client, a premier healthcare facility is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join their Sterile Processing Services (SPS) team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and infection control.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform decontamination of surgical instruments and medical devices using appropriate methods, including manual cleaning and mechanical processing.
Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, following established protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments and trays according to standardized procedures, ensuring that all items are properly prepared for sterilization.
Conduct routine quality control checks and monitor sterilization cycles, documenting results accurately to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organized sterile processing environment, adhering to infection prevention protocols and hospital policies.
Assist with inventory management, including tracking supplies, restocking, and reporting shortages to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to understand specific instrument needs and ensure timely availability for procedures.
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on best practices, regulations, and advancements in sterile processing.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Holding a Diploma in sterilization.
Certified CSSD is highly desirable.
Previous experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare setting is preferred.
Knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control standards, and medical terminology.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and protocols.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
