Your Department:
The Solution Engineering department is responsible for developing a winning commercial proposal, in close cooperation with the Sales Management department during the sales phase, and to successfully implement the as-sold total solution with the Project Execution department. The department consists of a wide range of expertise to enable the design and sell a total solution towards customers and to execute these designs when awarded.
Key of the Solution Engineering department is one responsibility to sell and execute a total solution within one team, without critical interfaces to other departments.
Your position:
As a Controls Project Engineer - APS Solution Engineering ME, you will closely work with the Project Leader, Integration Manager, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers. You will manage technical solutions pertinent to Control engineering and support sales in the bid and contract phase. During the execution phase, you will work towards the successful completion of one or more projects in an international environment.
Tasks and responsibilities:
As a Controls Project Engineer, you design and program PLC controls for our material handling systems (in the Airports and Parcel domain), meeting high-quality demands on a project basis. During the engineering phase, you work closely with a multidisciplinary project team to deliver a Functional Specification. After that, you are responsible for the detailed design, programming, and testing of the PLC software. When the engineering phase is finished, you will go to the customer site to commission the material handling system. During this commissioning phase, you carry out functional testing of the PLC hardware and software. You are also responsible for integrating your PLC software into the overall control system and assisting in the customer acceptance testing. During the execution of the project, you closely monitor the available budget and the agreed schedule, and you take the appropriate actions when necessary.
