Technical Services Engineer

The Technical Service Engineer is responsible for organizing, planning, and coordinating Engineering activities efficiently and effectively to provide technical guidance to improve aircraft/engine performance and reliability, as well as managing and optimizing the cost-related aspects of aircraft maintenance and engineering activities within the CAMO department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Give guidance on all matters relating to maintenance, repair, overhaul, replacement, and modification of aircraft and equipment.
2. Monitor all defects, delays, and component and engine removals and ensure advice situations are investigated and recommend remedial action.
3. Review manufacturers and regulatory agencies technical data and recommend appropriate action to comply with regulations or improve performance and reliability and reduce cost of maintenance and overhaul.
4. Liaise with manufacturers as necessary and convert manufacturers Service Bulletins or other technical literature into flyadeal documentation (Engineering Order, Special Work Instructions, etc.).
5. Evaluate specifications for the implementation of modifications and repair schemes and advise on specialized tools or equipment required.
6. Ensure all technical documents are evaluated and where applicable appropriate action is taken in the form of modifications, Technical Notices, raising AMP Amendments, and other technical document amendments.
7. Coordinate and conduct investigations on incidents and accidents, initiate follow-up action as required to investigate component and system failure and initiate follow-up remedial action.
8. Support approval of all local modifications, amendments to Maintenance schedule, and Concessions on aircraft, components, and parts.
9. Support engineering functions of material management (Airbus FHS engineering, shop visits reports, etc.).
10. Influence company culture through action, presence, and integrity.
11. Monitor and track all maintenance and engineering costs associated with the fleet, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
12. Perform detailed cost analysis of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and engineering projects to identify areas for cost savings.
13. Work closely with the Head of Engineering to ensure financial targets are met, including cost reduction initiatives and optimization of resources.
14. Develop accurate cost models and financial reports to support decision-making.
15. Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost databases, including historical maintenance cost data and performance metrics.
16. Prepare regular cost performance reports and dashboards for management, highlighting cost trends and areas for improvement.
17. Identify cost-saving opportunities across the CAMO department, including improved resource utilization, process efficiencies, and use of alternative suppliers.
18. Analyze fuel usage, aircraft utilization, and component lifecycles to provide recommendations for reducing overall fleet operating costs.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Master's degree in finance or business administration.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in airline engineering as a technical services engineer.
4. Experience with CFM56 and LEAP-1A engines required, including engine on/off wing management.
5. Experience in low-cost airlines is highly preferred.
6. Knowledge of aircraft maintenance costs, lifecycle costing, and financial management principles.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Experience with aviation ERP systems (AMOS).
