Competent in handling all Advanced Rock Property laboratory analysis relating to core samples including maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Supervise and prioritize the work for a team of Core Analysts, monitor safety protocols and manage training within the laboratory. May perform project coordination duties.
ADVANCED ROCK PROPERTIES SUPERVISOR
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that all personnel and equipment are effectively utilized and maintained to a high standard meeting all QA and HSE criteria. Maintain all laboratory procedures, forms and calibration records in accordance with QA system.
Ensure that the availability of personnel (including overtime requirement), equipment and consumables is consistent with the amount of work in house and to advise manager if this is not the case.
Maintain the laboratory in a safe, clean and tidy manner including safe storage and disposal of samples/core.
Responsible for reliability, quality and development of analysis methods and instruments.
Oversee laboratory analysis relating to advanced core analysis techniques designed to characterize a reservoir's static fluid distribution, dynamic flow performance, geomechanical properties and the evaluation of formation damage potential.
Supervise and prioritize the work for a team of Core Analysts and ability to perform all Advanced Rock Property laboratory analysis.
Ability to interpret scientific data, perform mathematical and scientific calculations, maintain laboratory notebooks and check for accuracy.
Monitor progress of assigned studies and ensure clients are updated.
Record and document test results from laboratory equipment including flow pumps, pressure transducers and gauges, scales and balances, electronic equipment and basic laboratory glassware.
Attend and participate in departmental and safety meetings.
Provide training to less experienced levels and assist manager with performance reviews and financial matters which may include client billing and account receivable collection.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor degree (e.g. Geology).
Minimum 5 years experience as advanced Core Analyst.
Good verbal and written knowledge of local language and English.
Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
Basic computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel, company systems).
Ability to use laboratory computer software (e.g. LIMS, LabView).
