About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Concierge to join our team at Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests and ensuring their stay with us is nothing short of unforgettable.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and Direct Team Members: Supervise and direct Concierge, Bell Desk activities and Bell Staff as well as Doormen, Valet Parking, and airport transportation requirements.
Provide Guest Information: Provide information pertaining to all hotel services, local places of interest, restaurants, doctors, sightseeing tours, and any other information likely to be of interest to guests.
Recommend Hotel Services: Recommend first and foremost the hotel's own Food and Beverage outlets before outside restaurants, with full knowledge of the outlets (e.g. cuisine, operating times, etc.).
Maintain Lobby Area: Ensure the lobby is always kept in an orderly fashion and that ashtrays are kept clean.
Prepare Work Schedules: Prepare efficient work and vacation schedules for Concierge, Doorman, and Bell Services, taking into consideration project occupancy and forecasts and large group movements.
Ensure Staff Performance: Ensure that all Concierge, Doormen, Valet, and Bell staff are neat, clean, and punctual at all times and that they perform the tasks assigned to them promptly and efficiently.
Handle Guest Issues: Handle problems associated with guests and liaise with department heads or executive management in the absence of the Front Office Manager.
Develop Departmental Standards: Maintain a comprehensive, current, and guest-focused set of departmental standards and procedures and implement them through thorough on-the-job training.
Conduct Training and Appraisals: Conduct probation and formal performance appraisal discussions; coaches, counsels, and disciplines staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
Requirements
Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic and English is a must.
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as Chief / Head Concierge.
Ability to Multitask: Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
