Data Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.
2. Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes in line with leading practices.
3. Establish working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders.
4. Collect feedback from internal stakeholders on issues being faced and other requirements.
5. Contribute to the preparation of progress reports directed to all relevant stakeholders to keep them informed of progress.
6. Conduct research and stay abreast of new technologies related to data in order to ensure adoption of relevant practices.
7. Conduct meetings to gather business requirements from all functions to support managing demand and change management processes.
8. Identify new technologies, potential hardware, operating systems, and connectivity solutions to support the development/update of data architecture.
9. Build conceptual, logical, and physical data models to enable data integration and lifecycle.
10. Identify data privacy requirements and controls, and develop risk mitigation plans in line with data governance policies to mitigate and decrease potential risk occurrences.
11. Ensure proper identification and documentation of changes/modifications to solution components to secure compatibility of new components with existing ones.
12. Conduct acceptance testing on data components and assess and resolve strategic level risks accordingly.
13. Identify database technologies operations and instances and monitor performance across data sets.
14. Assist in the design of new/existing databases as needed.
15. Assist with tuning queries for data extraction, management, and manipulation.
16. Gather feedback from relevant functions and other related stakeholders and reflect changes and improvements to ensure all data architecture needs are accounted for.
17. Develop reports to depict data architecture related activities, highlighting lessons learnt and areas requiring improvement.

Requirements

• 0 to 2 years of experience in Data Architecture field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent is required.
