Job Title: Junior Procurement Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:
The Junior Procurement Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the procurement of electrical components, systems, and equipment required for various projects. This role ensures that all purchased items meet technical, quality, and budgetary requirements while adhering to project timelines. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, procurement knowledge, and strong communication skills to bridge the gap between engineering teams and suppliers. The Junior Procurement Electrical Engineer will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and the procurement team to ensure timely and efficient acquisition of electrical materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Evaluation:
- Assist in the sourcing and procurement of electrical components such as transformers, Medium Voltage Switchgears, Low Voltage Switchgears, HV & MV & LV cables, Generators, UPSs, and other electrical equipment.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and datasheets to ensure purchased items meet project requirements.
- Supplier Sourcing, Evaluation and Management:
- Identify, evaluate and qualify potential suppliers for electrical components and systems.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality standards, and delivery performance.
- Procurement Process:
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to suppliers.
- Analyze supplier quotations and proposals, comparing technical specifications, pricing, lead times, and terms.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for electrical materials and equipment and ensure accurate documentation of procurement transactions.
- Monitor and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
- Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or specifications with suppliers.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC), and project specifications.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and finance.
- Track and report on the status of orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials to avoid project delays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related role, preferably in the electrical engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical Equipment, Components, systems, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to electrical Components.

Working Conditions:
- Office-based with occasional travel to supplier sites and project locations.
