Job description

As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records. You will play a key role in supporting the timely preparation of financial statements and collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Additionally, you will assist in process improvements and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  2. Account Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank and intercompany transactions. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  3. Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards such as IFRS and ZATCA. Provide insights and variance analysis to support financial performance.
  4. Compliance and Audit Assistance: Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, controls, and regulatory requirements. Support both internal and external auditors during audits.
  5. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within accounting processes and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.
  6. Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and assist with their development in resolving complex accounting issues.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reporting. Participate in cross-departmental projects to align accounting practices with business objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus).
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger management and financial reporting, preferably in a SaaS environment.
  3. Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Zoho, or similar), and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and provide clear guidance.
