A leading Talent Acquisition Company in Saudi Arabia is on the lookout for a Marine Instrumentation and Survey Specialist to join our esteemed organization in Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be at the forefront of marine operations, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing instrumentation and survey systems tailored for marine environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of marine survey projects, contributing to both data collection and data analysis.
Responsibilities
Manage the Marine Technology Laboratory and be responsible for all process, tools, safety procedures, etc.
Manage and maintain all relevant equipment.
Work with electronic and mechanical aptitude, project management capabilities, and a proven track record in working with complex instrumentations.
Coordinate survey equipment to include log keeping, installation, commissioning, training, calibration, etc.
Assist KBD users in the setup of sea going, terrestrial, and deployed instrumentation as well as the retrieval of data from recovered equipment.
Undertake maintenance and servicing on a range of other field equipment, including (but not limited to) diving equipment and compressors (after appropriate training, if necessary).
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to repair in a timely manner.
Plan, conduct, and lead technology support for marine and terrestrial surveys following established scientific methodologies.
Work with KBD project managers to identify commercially available technologies to ensure accurate and reliable delivery of survey requirements.
Project and team management, including budgeting, schedules, and logistics.
Build marine and terrestrial robotics and autonomous survey solutions.
Become proficient in all manner of autonomous survey technologies ranging from Airborne Drones, Unmanned Surface Vessels, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles to Remotely Operated Vehicles.
Willingness and ability to rapidly learn new processing software and to obtain international accreditation in the same.
Desired Candidate Profile
A relevant bachelor’s degree in marine surveying, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in marine surveying or a related field.
Alternatively, a vocational qualification in marine surveying (e.g., CAT A or CAT B) or in electrical/mechanical engineering, robotics, or a similar field, with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working on marine technology projects.
Proficiency in using industry-standard survey equipment and software.
Strong understanding of marine data collection techniques and methodologies.
Project management skills, including schedule, staff resource, and budget management.
Being able to dive is advantageous but not essential. KBD personnel who dive will be a minimum PADI Rescue diver, pass an annual dive medical, and meet specified requirements demonstrating in-water competence.
Experience of the following would be an advantage (although not essential): Previous work in the Middle East; Experience in working with Saudi Government Ministries; Experience working offshore and in coastal marine projects; Ability to speak and write Arabic; Experience in building and designing marine survey systems.
