7 years of experience in the same field and 3 years in the same position as head nurse.
Master’s or diploma in Management is preferable.
Managerial skills are a must.
Dataflow is a must.
Saudi license holder is a plus.
Fluent in English.
Job description and responsibilities
Take over narcotic, ensure all the narcotics are correctly used and documented as per policy.
Take over daily reports of all the patients in the unit.
Check the patient’s allocation, ensure proper patient distribution, staff patient ratio according to the unit activities.
Ensure the electronic attendance submission on time.
Ensure the distribution of the break time, monitor all the staff compliance with the assignment sheet.
Ensure all the patients for surgery have correct identification, consent for every procedure, consent for anaesthetic, site marking, surgery checklist, pre-op medication, and all the OR requirements available before sending the patient.
Ensure the daily disaster on-call list and bed occupancy sheet are updated.
Visit all patients in the unit with the other nurses, ensuring correct patient identification is maintained, assess the patient according to their needs.
Follow doctors on their rounds whenever needed.
Ensure correct inventory is done by the staff.
Check crash cart trolley on a weekly basis.
Check patients' rooms, ensure room checklist is done correctly, medication room is clean and tidy, report defects and ensure repairs are followed up.
Monitor stocks, request and follow up.
Attend management meetings and whenever necessary, conduct unit meetings and keep records.
Involve in training of the Saudi Nurses, Preceptorship Program.
Assessment for recontracts, promotion and attachment staff for training purposes and staff development schedule.
Ensure the other administrative work of the unit is kept up to date.
