Job description

Job Purpose/Summary:
We are seeking a Superintendent, Electrical & Instrument to plan, direct, and coordinate the work of Industrial Electrical system maintenance and Instrumentation. The role involves overseeing the maintenance of DCS, PLC, F&G systems, and bagging machines. The Superintendent will be responsible for providing professional and effective centralized Electrical and Substation system, Instrumentation & control system maintenance services to ensure reliable plant operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with NAMA policies, Safety, Health, and Environment Management System procedures, and contribute to achieving target rates while complying with quality procedures and NAMA ISO certified standards. Accountable for all subordinates safety compliance and leading assigned safety investigations or analyses.
  2. Develop and implement safety measures to ensure the safe handling of the Electrical & Instrumentation system, with a focus on achieving zero accidents/incidents.
  3. Manage daily E&I maintenance activities, assess risks, and ensure the provision of necessary tools and manpower for completing work activities. Perform human resource responsibilities and consult with user/proponent organizations to plan and schedule preventive maintenance programs.
  4. Monitor equipment regularly, take proactive action to prevent breakdowns, and ensure the reliability of equipment. Manage breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and ensure accurate data entry in SAP/MS Access. Update equipment history files and implement maintenance programs in line with established Key Performance Indicators.
  5. Utilize SAP and other available tools effectively for maintenance management.
  6. Prepare manpower schedules, expenditure budgets, and CAPEX budgets based on business plans and goals to promote plant reliability and cost control. Overall control of cost, manpower, and plant reliability.
  7. Plan and schedule work activities, safety programs, and preventive maintenance. Identify process or equipment problems causing excessive repair costs or equipment failures, and implement appropriate control measures. Coordinate with vendors for necessary AMC.
  8. Ensure that engineers, technicians, craftsmen, and contracted manpower perform quality work. Provide training to subordinates.
  9. Participate in turnaround maintenance/shutdown preparation, coordination, execution, quality checks, and follow-up. Safely handle all shutdown programs and annual turnaround maintenance works.
  10. Direct the maintenance work as per scope and ensure prompt and adequate service is provided to user organizations.
  11. Consult with user/proponent organizations to determine their plans and programs, nature and extent of work, and plan and schedule preventive maintenance programs. Make decisions regarding job priorities, equipment utilization, repair alternatives, and maintenance methods to minimize plant downtime and reduce losses.
  12. Work closely with operating and engineering personnel to solve maintenance or abnormal wear/breakdown problems. Make decisions or recommendations regarding best practices and operating procedures.
  13. Audit draft contract proposals, initiate and approve service orders, and accept or reject completed work.
  14. Ensure proper functioning of building systems such as air conditioning, lighting, and communication systems.
  15. Participate in new projects or construction activities as directed by management.
  16. Carry out Management of Change (MOC) processes after team approval.
  17. Maintain relevant records and benchmark the maintenance system.

Education:

  1. B.Tech / B.E / B.S in Electrical / Instrumentation from a reputed college/university

Experience:

  1. 15 years of experience in Petrochemical Industry Instrumentation & Control Maintenance System.

Job Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Excellent knowledge of Electrical and Substation systems.
  2. Excellent knowledge of Instrumentation and independent troubleshooting skills.
  3. Excellent knowledge of DCS, ESD, and troubleshooting.
  4. Excellent knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and their troubleshooting.
  5. Good troubleshooting knowledge of Analyzers. Basic GC operation and troubleshooting.
  6. Excellent knowledge of PLC software.
  7. Capable of handling all types of maintenance and knowledge of relevant codes and equipment.
  8. Computer knowledge.
  9. Fluency in the English language.
  10. Excellent knowledge of safety and environmental standards.
