Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Research and develop new materials or improve existing ones to meet specific requirements.
  2. Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate the properties of materials, such as strength, durability, and thermal properties.
  3. Analyze data and interpret results to make recommendations for material selection or process improvement.
  4. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure that materials meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
  5. Stay current with advancements in materials science and technology to identify opportunities for innovation.
  6. Provide technical support and expertise to resolve materials-related issues in production or product performance.
  7. Participate in the selection of suppliers and materials sourcing activities.
  8. Document research findings, test results, and material specifications in reports and technical documents.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all aspects of materials testing and experimentation.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of materials science principles, including structure-property relationships and material characterization techniques.
  3. Proficiency in materials testing methods, such as mechanical testing, spectroscopy, microscopy, and thermal analysis.
