Job description

We are seeking a Lead Planning Engineer with 10+ years of experience in managing EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, particularly within the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have worked on projects for Saudi Aramco. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in scheduling, planning, engineering, and project management, capable of leading and mentoring a team while driving process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and standardize the project planning framework to streamline planning processes and improve efficiency.
  • Lead proactive process improvement initiatives to enhance planning and control processes and drive organizational excellence.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for effective implementation of planning frameworks and processes across the organization.
  • Monitor project progress and trends, providing support and guidance to project teams as needed.
  • Regularly review project schedules to identify inefficiencies and discrepancies and take corrective actions accordingly.
  • Foster a culture of effective planning and risk management among project managers and team leads.
  • Manage planning team resource allocation and capacity tracking, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and timely reporting.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to planning team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronics) or related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in engineering and project management roles.
  • Experience with Saudi Aramco projects is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project planning tools and software, such as Microsoft Project (MSP).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and guide team members.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Proven track record in driving process improvement initiatives and implementing best practices.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost control processes, with the ability to analyze project costs and forecasts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively.
