About the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of mechanical systems and equipment within the airport facility. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless functioning of the airport's infrastructure, ensuring safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project requirements for performance, safety, and efficiency. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the development and implementation of engineering solutions across various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and develop mechanical systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, fire suppression, and other related systems, ensuring they meet project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Evaluate and select appropriate mechanical equipment such as chillers, pumps, fans, boilers, and other machinery required for the airport's operation, considering factors like energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers to contribute to the overall project planning and design process.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and other technical documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with mechanical systems and propose effective solutions to mitigate these risks and ensure reliable operations.
- Monitor and supervise the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring that contractors adhere to project plans, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections and testing of mechanical installations to verify their functionality, efficiency, and compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules related to mechanical engineering aspects and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery within allocated resources.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and airport infrastructure and integrate innovative practices to enhance system performance and sustainability.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- A professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects or large-scale facilities.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for drafting and design.
