English Language Trainers - Saudi Construction Skills Training Centre
PINZ has been approached by a Saudi group to provide training and management services for a construction skills training centre in the Jazan Province for an initial pilot period of 6.5 months. Around 500 Saudi male school leavers and ‘second chance’ learners aged 18-24 years with beginner English levels will be enrolled. The language of instruction will be English. The program objectives are to provide sufficient basic skills for trainees to enter the workforce of their sponsor and continue into further study that will articulate into an overall two-year diploma.
Position Overview
PINZ is seeking expressions of interest from qualified ESL Trainers, who are interested in working in a Middle Eastern setting in a role that focuses on passing on their knowledge and experience to sponsored trainees requiring English language (and separately trades) training in the construction and building industry.
The contract for this project is not yet confirmed and signed; however, a final decision will be made within the next one to two weeks. If PINZ and the Saudi group sign a contract, initially 25 ESL Trainers are required to start in late August 2013. The minimum level of commitment is 6.5 months from 31 August 2013 to 12 March 2014, including working through the Christmas 2013/2014 period. If the PINZ contract with the Saudi group is extended beyond March 2014, then ESL Trainers' contracts will be renewable by mutual agreement with PINZ.
English Studies Program
Trimester One or T1 runs from 7 Sept to 4 Dec 2013, and Trimester Two or T2 runs from 14 Dec 2013 to 12 Mar 2014. The training programs are divided into English and trade-related topics. ESL Trainers will be contracted to teach the English curriculum. T1’s ESL program will focus on basic English skills to build the foundation for a more specialist technical vocabulary.
Expression of Interest Requirements
How to Express Interest
Please apply online. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis, but to meet our late August deployment timeframe for Trimester 1, we will need to approve and appoint the initial 25 technical trainers by 31 July 2013. Please note that due to the large number of applicants, we will only contact those candidates whose applications we wish to progress. Candidates who are contacted will then be required to attend a Skype interview and to provide further documents as required. We appreciate you taking the time to apply.
