Location: Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam)

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving the growth of our breakbulk, RoRo, and chartering services across the Middle East region. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in logistics, breakbulk cargo handling, RoRo operations, and chartering services, combined with a deep understanding of the regional market dynamics. The role requires a high level of business acumen, a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities, and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Identify and target new business opportunities within the breakbulk, RoRo, and chartering sectors across the Middle East region.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the company’s market share in these specialized sectors.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including shipping lines, freight forwarders, and port authorities.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to stay ahead of the industry curve.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients and stakeholders to promote the company’s services.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for existing and potential clients in the region.
  • Develop tailored solutions to meet clients’ specific logistics needs related to breakbulk, RoRo, and chartering.

Market Analysis & Strategy:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends in the Middle East region.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop strategies for entering new markets or optimizing current operations.
  • Evaluate and advise on new business ventures, partnerships, and investments related to breakbulk, RoRo, and chartering.

Sales & Revenue Growth:

  • Set and achieve sales targets to meet or exceed regional revenue goals for the breakbulk, RoRo, and chartering business.
  • Develop commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage pricing strategies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track sales progress to ensure continuous growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, logistics, procurement, etc.) to ensure successful implementation and delivery of services.
  • Work closely with marketing to promote the company’s brand and services across the region.
  • Provide feedback and insights from clients to improve service offerings and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field. An MBA or professional certification in logistics or transportation is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or management within the logistics, shipping, or transportation industries, with a strong focus on breakbulk, RoRo, and chartering.

Industry Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of breakbulk cargo operations, RoRo logistics, chartering services, and the Middle East shipping and logistics market.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies and achieve sales targets.
  • Analytical skills to assess market trends and identify new opportunities.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment and shipping standards in the Middle East.
