Transportation and Rig Move Operations Manager

The Transportation and Rig Move Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective planning and execution of all transportation and rig move operations. This includes managing a team of transportation specialists, rig movers, and support personnel, as well as coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy transport, rig moving, and logistics, with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Execution:
   1. Develop and implement comprehensive transportation and rig move plans, considering all relevant factors such as equipment specifications, route surveys, weather conditions, and regulatory requirements.
   2. Oversee the execution of transportation and rig move operations, ensuring adherence to safety procedures, timelines, and budgets.
   3. Coordinate with management, maintenance, and drilling teams to ensure proper preparation and support for rig moves.
   4. Manage and optimize the utilization of transportation and rig moving equipment.
2. Team Management:
   1. Lead, mentor, and train a team of transportation specialists, rig movers, and support personnel.
   2. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
   3. Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill sets to meet operational demands.
   4. Promote a culture of safety and teamwork within the transportation and rig move operations.
3. Safety and Compliance:
   1. Develop and enforce safety procedures and protocols for all transportation and rig move operations.
   2. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
   3. Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
4. Logistics and Coordination:
   1. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
   2. Manage transportation and logistics contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.
   3. Maintain accurate records of transportation and rig move activities, including equipment maintenance, personnel training, and safety inspections.
   4. Serve as the primary point of contact for all transportation and rig move related inquiries.
5. Budget and Cost Control:
   1. Develop and manage the transportation and rig move operations budget.
   2. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
   3. Monitor and track expenses, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines.
6. Risk Management:
   1. Identify and assess potential risks associated with transportation and rig move operations.
   2. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.
   3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Skills:

1. Obtain a Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field (preferred).
2. Minimum 7 years of experience in transportation and rig move operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
3. Extensive knowledge of heavy transport, rig moving techniques, and related equipment.
4. Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation management software.
7. Have knowledge of all rig move operations and registration with drilling companies.
8. English Fluency.
9. Available for work with transferable Iqama.
