About the Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician with expertise in electroplating, galvanizing, and powder coating to join our Metal Surface Treatment team in Dammam. The role involves analyzing samples, preparing reports, maintaining lab equipment, managing chemical inventory, and ensuring sample integrity while adhering to ISO 1725, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 standards. The technician will support the Technical Manager by clarifying test results, recording data accurately, and managing equipment calibration.

Title: Laboratory Technician – Surface Metal Treatment

Function: R&D

Reporting to: Area Sales Manager & Technical Manager

Location: Dammam 2nd Industrial Area, Saudi Arabia

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and safely store samples to be tested.
• Determine and perform required tests and analyses using standard laboratory procedures.
• Record test results accurately and prepare comprehensive reports for review.
• Discuss and clarify test results with the Technical Manager.
• Conduct experiments under defined conditions and document findings.
• Test the quality of supplier materials and new chemicals as directed.
• Perform hull-cell tests to identify and resolve issues, including calculating the required dosing.
• Conduct functional tests for newly received chemicals.
• Prepare and treat new chemical baths as required.
• Operate and maintain semi-automatic and automatic plating plants.
• Prepare reagents and standardize chemicals using raw materials.
• Track and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals, reporting shortages proactively.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment while adhering to proper documentation practices.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and equipment records.
• Ensure all tasks comply with ISO standards, specifically ISO 1725, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001.
• Stay updated on technical and scientific advancements within the industry.
• Support the Technical Manager and Area Sales Manager with technical tasks and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Chemistry from an accredited university or college.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Laboratory Technician, with mandatory experience in the electroplating and powder coating chemicals industry.
• Practical knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 1725, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001).
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English (Arabic is a plus but not mandatory).
• Expertise in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) with strong comfort in using these programs.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg, when necessary, such as when receiving chemicals.
