General Manager, Process Automation

Role Purpose:

To develop and execute Company’s business strategies in order to attain business goals and provide strategic advice to Board so that they will have an accurate view of the market and set the right path for the future of the Company in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and implement comprehensive mid to long-term business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities.
  2. Supervise in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts based on relevant business conditions and ensure the targets are achieved.
  3. Monitor and review performance of the organization periodically and monitor the company’s financial performance, investments and headcount, and report findings to the Regional Director Finance.
  4. Ensure company policies and guidelines are communicated to employees top-down for compliance.
  5. Communicate and maintain trust relationships with top management, business partners, statutory authorities, company’s customers, and vendors.
  6. Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives by providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.
  7. Carry out the role of a public speaker and public relations representative of the Company in ways that strengthen its profile.
  8. Carry on the operations of the organization in an unbiased manner without favoritism and review staff performance to prevent issues and resolve problems.
  9. Securing business for projects and supervise Technical teams (i.e. System Engineering, Design, Installation & Commissioning) involved in the projects to ensure profitability of the business.
  10. Ensure positive monthly cash flows by generating suitable revenue and controlling expenses and responsible for timely payment of all obligations which may arise including timely payment to suppliers, contractors, and employees.
Role Requirements:

  1. Degree holder in Electrical / Instrumentation Technology from a reputable University, with MBA being an asset.
  2. A minimum of 15 years of experience in Automation / Electrical specifically within EPE (Explosion Protection Equipment) business for Process industries e.g. Refineries, Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas etc., within KSA.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of customers in EPE business and offering of customized solutions in the EPE market; with the ability to position our products against competitors a distinct advantage.
  4. In-depth practical knowledge of Sales / Business Development for Electrical Enclosure Solutions (e.g. of Switch Racks, Distribution Boards, Control Stations, Terminal boxes, Fieldbus Junction boxes etc.).
  5. Solid track record of establishment and expansion of customer relationships with steadily increasing order intake and sales would be highly regarded.
  6. Possess excellent contacts and relationships with EPC, System Vendors, Solution Companies, End Users e.g. Saudi Aramco / SABIC etc.
  7. Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Vendor Approval processes and getting approval thereof; ability to coordinate and liaise with senior officers and management of Saudi Aramco and similar customers.
  8. Working knowledge of Electrical Hazardous area Technology ATEX, IEC, UL Standards and basic knowledge of proposal preparation, SLD (Single Line Diagram) / PID (Piping & Instrument Drawing) and Order Management.
  9. Proven ability to drive the sales process besides excellent negotiation and leadership mindset and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  11. Familiar with corporate law and management best practices, and local statutory requirements (including but not limited to) Baladiya License, Chamber Registration, GOSI/GAZT/VAT registrations, Muqeem/Oiwa Filing and local municipality Rules and Regulations.
  12. Knowledge and procedure of obtaining International Audit Certificates including UL, PTB.
