Job Title: QC Inspector – Steel Coil & Tube Mill Industry (NOT Testing Specialist) – Middle East

Introduction: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented QC Inspector with expertise in the steel coil and tube mill industry, specializing in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality control processes, including NDT techniques, and will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of steel coils and tubes produced in the Middle East region.
Key Responsibilities:
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):
Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), eddy current testing (ET), and dye penetrant testing (DPT) on steel coils and tubes to detect defects and ensure quality standards.
Interpret NDT results to identify any abnormalities or defects in the material or final product and report findings accurately.
Ensure that all NDT equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning correctly in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
Quality Inspection & Documentation:
Conduct regular inspections of steel coils and tubes during various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Maintain thorough records of inspection results, NDT reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Generate and maintain accurate inspection documentation, including reports, certificates, and test results for internal and customer use.
Material & Process Evaluation:
Assess the quality of raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet the required mechanical properties, dimensions, and industry standards.
Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues, ensure corrective actions are implemented, and ensure process improvements are achieved.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure compliance with local and international standards and regulations related to steel coil and tube manufacturing and NDT testing (such as ASTM, EN, ISO).
Monitor and enforce adherence to company quality control procedures, industry guidelines, and safety standards in the testing process.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving:
Investigate and report on quality issues, determine root causes, and collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Provide technical support to resolve complex quality-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and management, to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Participate in regular quality meetings, offering insights into testing procedures and potential improvements in quality assurance practices.
Training & Knowledge Sharing:
Assist in training junior QC inspectors and production staff on quality standards, testing procedures, and NDT techniques.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NDT technology and steel industry quality standards and incorporate them into daily practices.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a QC Inspector in the steel coil and tube mill industry, with hands-on experience in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing).
Knowledge of international standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ISO, EN) as they apply to steel coils, tubes, and NDT procedures.
Familiarity with quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and material testing used in the steel industry.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and diagnose quality issues accurately.
Good communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
Proficiency in using inspection tools, equipment, and software applications related to NDT testing.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in steel coil and tube mill production facilities in the Middle East.
Familiarity with the operational and regulatory environment in the Middle East steel industry.
Knowledge of other NDT methods or advanced NDT certifications (e.g., Eddy Current Testing, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) is a plus.
Awareness of safety standards and practices in industrial testing environments.
