One of our clients in the Health Care industry in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, is hiring for the position of Occupational Therapist.
Years of Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree (Master's degree is preferable) in Occupational Therapy.
Notice Period: Immediate joiners or maximum one-month notice period.
Job Summary:
Provides evaluation and treatment of complex patients with physical, cognitive, or psychological limitations arising from diseases, injury, or conditions occurring throughout the life span to help them achieve a fulfilled and satisfied state in life through the use of purposeful activity. Interventions are designed to achieve functional outcomes which promote health, prevent injury or disability, and restore the highest possible level of independence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assesses patients to determine level of function. Establishes treatment goals and administers appropriate OT procedures.
- Liaises with referring physician and other professionals regarding patients' treatment program.
- Develops, improves, sustains, or restores skills in activities of daily living.
- Identifies and facilitates engagement in meaningful and healthy occupations.
- Educates the patient, family, or caregiver in carrying out appropriate non-skilled interventions.
- Consults with groups, programs, organizations, or communities to provide community-based services.
- Participates in conferences with physicians, nurses, and allied medical personnel relating to the physical, emotional, and socioeconomic problems affecting the health and welfare of patients.
- Reports need for new supplies, maintenance, or repairs of equipment to Service Supervisor.
- Facilitates a learning environment through selection of appropriate approaches to learning and teaching, meeting the learners' needs and promoting a change in practice.
- Acts as a resource and facilitates communication with patient, family, caregivers, and members of the multidisciplinary team to promote maximum benefit from care and rehabilitation.
- Designs plans and delivers learning activities and opportunities to a range of audiences with differing levels of knowledge and expertise.
- Promotes unit culture of quality and safety through implementation of clinical audits and supporting research and development activities.
- Participates in self and others' education, training, and development, as applicable.
- Ability to use professional literature, evidence-based research, and continuing education content to make practice decisions.
- Ability to develop occupationally based intervention plans based on evaluation information.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Must have at least a minimum of 4 years experience.
- Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
- Must be able to work as a team with other therapists and must have excellent people skills.
