2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Inspect, test, repair, and maintain (discipline specific) plant and operations equipment/machinery (routine, ad-hoc, emergency and strategic maintenance) to ensure continuous integrity, and sustainable and safe operation.
3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualification:
- High school certificate
- Maths and Science desirable
- Trade test + 1 Year experience as Artisan (subject to personal performance)
Experience:
2 Years relevant experience.

- Competent in interpreting regulations and codes; reading ISO drawings Mechanical/Electrical/Instruments flow diagrams and other technical drawings

* Routinely inspect and test equipment/machinery/fixtures, using applicable (discipline specific) testing equipment/tools.
* Identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with safety and other regulations (with limited supervision where required).
* Correct and safe use of a variety of discipline-specific tools or equipment (manual and power tools) to test, analyze, repair, and modify plant equipment/machinery/fixtures.
* Perform routine service requirements.
* Troubleshooting: determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
* Execute repairs/modifications: dismantle, fix, and reassemble machines/equipment.
* Examine workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications and safety requirements.
* Perform ad-hoc and/or emergency maintenance (including shutdowns).
* Execute discipline-specific artisan work during projects.
* Plan layout and installation of equipment/machinery/fixtures.
* Prepare and maintain records, detailing tests, repairs, and/or maintenance.
* Consult manuals, schematics, flow diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning.
* Analyze test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems and/or to evaluate effects of systems modifications.
* Strict adherence to safety codes, regulations, rules, and procedures.
* Read and comply with work orders and specifications to determine machine/equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
* Identify correct parts needed for replacements and repairs and timely order following correct procedures.
